What is the Certified Landscape Professional (CLP) Program…

The CLP program is designed for owners and managers of horticulture companies, and focuses on core business skills required to run a successful operation. Candidates earn their CLP designation by successfully completing a series of seven written examinations.
The CLP program offers an exclusive set of training materials developed as a method for self study preparation for the CLP exam. Each study manual corresponds to a section of the exam, and can be purchased separately, or as a set for additional savings.
Just What’s Involved in Earning for My CLP?
To achieve the CLP designation, candidates must pass seven exams on the following topic areas…
· Corporate Financial Management
· Managing Marketing and Sales
· Technical - Exterior Landscaping/Interior Landscaping
· Leadership and Corporate Citizenship
· Risk, Law, Contracts, Government
· Innovation, Strategic, Business, Succession Planning
· Human Resource Management.
You may choose either an exterior landscape contracting or interior landscaping track.

Are There Other Qualifications?
Yes, in addition to having successfully completed all 7 sections of the CLP exam with a minimum of 70% in each section, you’ll also need to meet minimum experience/education requirements, as follows…
· A degree + 3 years industry experience
· A diploma + 4 years industry experience
· Or 5 years industry experience.
Exams…
Examination opportunities will be offered throughout the year in different locations throughout Ontario…
· Are given in a multiple choice format
· Individual modules range from 20 to 70 questions.
· Exams are generally offered in four-hour time blocks, and you may choose to write as many modules as you wish
· A full exam covering all seven modules is 300 questions
· Typically, you’ll receive your exam results within 30 days of your exam date

For Landscape Ontario members…
Exam fee is $65 per module, to a maximum of $325 per session, or $325 for the full exam.
Study manuals are $55 each (plus HST), or $325 (plus HST) for the full set of seven.
